I could look at landscaping photos all day long, but at the end of the day we are not seasoned gardeners. It’s tempting to have professionals come in and plant matured/established plants, and we still might do that, however I think we’re going to give this our best shot. The main things on our landscaping list include:
-
Budget Friendly
-
Low Maintenance
-
Preferably not full sun, but that isn’t a deal breaker.
-
Growth control. Since whatever we plant is going to be directly next to the house, we have to be able to maintain roots/overgrowth next to our foundation.
We already know what color we’re painting the exterior (stay tuned for that!) so today we wanted to share a few photos that inspire us for our upcoming project! Side note: I clearly favor landscaping that doesn’t necessarily reflect our location, and I’m ok with that! Ha! I want to bring some midwest to our southern home. Yah feel me?
What I’m loving?
-
The white raised planter boxes with the slat wood.

What I’m loving?
-
The black rocks and stepping stones. We will have something similar to this leading back to our new entrance.
What I’m loving?
-
The over sized pots that can house individual or a cluster of low maintenance plants.
What I’m loving?
-
The height of the landscaping and the containment of the plant in the pot to avoid a root system.
What I’m loving?
-
First word: Lemongrass
-
Second word: MOSQUITOES
-
We have so m any mosquitoes at our house, and it would be so wonderful to be able to repel as many as possible.
Now for a fun landscaping mood board for a visual.
