This week I shared two of my favorite products from my skincare and makeup routine. I wasn’t kidding when I said they have replaced my drug store makeup (however, in all honesty I haven’t worn actual makeup aside from mascara in YEARS!) Today I thought I would document me getting ready so you can see just how big of an impact these products have on my skin, while giving me the natural dewy and illuminating appearance I absolutely love (thanks to this illuminating primer). Let’s get started shall we? Here’s a little glimpse into my skincare and makeup routine from start to finish.
Before we begin, I want to reiterate that I have been using these products for over five months now. In case you were wondering, yes, it is very difficult to chose a favorite. However, my favorites are always my eyes (mascara + brow pomade), and hydration (moisturizer + serum). Personally, I’ve never implemented a skincare routine. I have very sensitive skin, and have tried everything under the sun. Every time my skin would react, I would have to start at square one. One thing I always take into account when it comes to beauty products is that they’re cruelty free. A few key ingredients in the products include baobab oil, hydraulic acid, malachite, vitamin c ester, and marine collagen. In addition to being cruelty free, these products are gluten free, paraben free, and phthalate free.
First thing you’ll do-
You’ll want to make sure your skin is completely cleansed. I do this by applying the hydrating cleanser to my entire face. Typically, I’ll gently massage this on my face for roughly one minute. After that grab an ultra soft bamboo washcloth, which comes with the collection gift set, soak under warm water, and enjoy a spa-like cleanse.
Next you’ll apply serum-
Not only do I love the packaging of these products, but I specifically love the serum bottle. I apply a full pump of serum to the tops of my cheek bones, forehead and nose. This hydrating serum is so powerful, we were at a baseball tournament a couple weeks ago where I forgot sunscreen (whoops!) and my nose got burnt. This serum completely healed my sunburn scab in 48 hours. In other words I’m beyond impressed with just how hydrating it is!
Let’s take care of those eyes-
I’ve always been kinda sorta self conscience about my fine lines and wrinkles. Personally, I’m not a huge proponent for Botox, however there’s also nothing wrong with it if that’s what you chose to do. I definitely think my eyes would’ve benefited from eye cream before now, but what’s important is that I started, and I’m not looking back. All it takes is one tiny pump of the eye cream. I apply it to my crows feet and under eye area.
Last but not least for skincare, moisturizer-
The last step of the hydrating skincare portion of my skincare routine is the hydrating moisturizer. Gently apply two pumps of the moisturizer all over your face for silky smooth skin. I let each product rest of my skin for about a minute before applying the next product.
Moving onto my simple makeup routine-
I love everything in my life to be as minimal as possible, including my makeup. My overall goal is to have glowy, dewy, and moisturized skin with a hint of shimmer. Below is what I apply to my face after my skincare.
Applying brow pomade-
If you grew up in the 90’s then odds are you over plucked your eyebrows. If you didn’t over pluck, tweeze, or wax your eyebrows off, I applaud you. I fell into the trend, and am left with pretty sad, extremely light, eyebrows. The deep brown brow pomade has been a game changer. It’s lightweight, stays in place, and helps give my eyebrows the shape I’m after. I apply using my brow brush. To get the shape, I brush my eyebrow hairs upwards with my spoolie brush. Then, I gently dab my brush into my pomade and follow the bottom line of my brow, arching it at the end of my eye. I’ll turn the brush at the end and bring some of the pomade up, giving the inside of my brow a subtle shade.
Let’s add some shimmer to the eye lids-
Typically I never wear eye shadow, however I love subtle colors in the desert rose eye shadow pallete, more specifically the naturally nude shade. A quick run over my eyelids using my eye brush and I’m good to go. Do you love makeup brushes? If so you’ll love this entire brush collection. I store my makeup brushes in this gorgeous rolling case.
Add a little dewy glow to your face-
Two words: glowy and dewy. These are two words I would use to describe how my face looks after applying the illuminating primer.
Lastly, the lipgloss-
Hydrating your lips is something you don’t want to skip or overlook. The baobab lip mask is my absolute go to every single time. This lipgloss is even better when you pair it with the sugar lip scrub!
The final look filter free-
Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my skincare and makeup routine from start to finish. I hope you loved “watching me get ready”. If you’re in the market for some new skin care and makeup products for your beauty regiment/routine, I couldn’t recommend these products more!
