I made a quick run to Walmart to pick up a few necessities. A couple weekends ago when we had some friends over, I realized I didn’t have enough drinking glasses for entertaining. I always realized that my previous wood charcuterie boards had broken. I needed a place for snacks when we were out relaxing on the back deck. Today I’m going to share my Walmart home haul with you guys.
In case you missed our deck build make sure to follow along on Instagram. You can also view them here: part one, two, three, four, five, six, and this one where we shared the furniture we’ve purchased so far for the deck. We also built a really cool and unique sliding dog gate to keep the dogs off the deck when we were entertaining. Check that out here. Keep reading to see what products I purchased.
Automatic soap dispenser
I’ve been wanting an automatic soap dispenser for quite awhile. I’ve added several to my Amazon cart here and there, but haven’t ordered yet. Today when I was at Walmart, I happened to see one sitting on the shelf. I purchased two, one for our kitchen and one for the kids bathroom. One is filled up with dish soap, and one up with this soap that I purchased from Amazon. To give your unscented soap a better smell, add a couple drops of this oil to your container.
We had a knife block in our upper cabinet to keep away from the kids. However, since our children are now a little older, it doesn’t concern us. Today I placed the knives in these new rubber organization containers above our silverware. This container also protects our drawer from water damage if they’re not all the way dry yet. The containers came in a pack of two, so I went ahead and threw some spatulas in the other one.
Dishwasher pod storage
If there’s one thing I cannot run out of, it’s dishwasher pods. I love cleaning the kitchen, and having a clean kitchen. Letting the dishes get behind for even just one day completely throws me off my game. We actually ran out the other day simply because we couldn’t see through the box. When Scot ran to get some groceries, we didn’t add it to the list. This amazing glass container was the perfect storage solution for our dishwasher pods. We keep these up out of the way of children, for obvious reasons.
Overall we maybe had a handful of plastic cups, and zero glass drinking cups. I decided to purchase two of these eight pack drinking glasses. They hold 16 oz of water and are a very minimal design. Perfect for our family, and for guests.
We love creating charcuterie boards for our guests. I mentioned earlier in the post that our previous wood boards had broken. Today I decided to switch it up and get this midnight granite color cutting board. I thought it would be a fun change from the normal wood cutting board.
Everytime we leave the house it’s for baseball. However, the huge baseball jugs of water isn’t very practical for cup holder and everyday purposes. I grabbed four new tumbler cups for the kids today, including these amazing straws. I grabbed two different sizes. The thirty two ounce tumblers, and the sixteen ounce tumblers.
