One Room Challenge Fall 2019- Week four update

See this content in the original post

A handful of unedited iphone shots for your viewing pleasure from two blogging full time engineer photographer parents of four that are running on fumes and Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. Well me, not Scot. Ben and Jerry’s isn’t Keto friendly. ;) But if you’re not on Keto grab yourself a pint and do a little happy dance.

What started out as a pretty stressful and hectic week of the One Room Challenge, actually ended up being semi productive! We we’re able to knock out way more than we expected. Let’s just right into our week four progress. This post, like last week’s will be pretty brief because things are currently going 100 mph in our house so we’re over here rolling with the punches people!

OK, so what did we get accomplished this week in our master bedroom?

  • We installed the rest of the MDF baseboards and squared off quarter round. We had some unevenness from the original hardwoods, and this was the best option to cover those imperfections up! Worked like a charm, and I love the quarter round more than I thought I would.

  • We finished installing the cabinets, ending with a beautiful wood waterfall over the top and side. The waterfall wasn’t apart of the original plan, but since the cabinets were at one time screwed together in a set of three, we needed to conceal the screw holes. The wood waterfall was the easiest option here.

  • We cut and installed our closet doors. Blurry screenshot photo of a video below! We will be posting all the behind the scenes videos of that going down next week!

  • I built a DIY scrap nightstand for the side of our bed, and still need to build a matching one for Scot’s side!

(Ignore the blur in this photo, it’s a screen shot of a video! I thought I had taken a photo, but it was a boomerang! :)

What’s going on for next week? Here’s a condensed list!

  • Install lighting on the side of the bed

  • MAYBE decide if we’re going to commit to a feature wall. Nothing like cutting it close to the finish line, eh??

  • Finish painting the new baseboards and quarter round

  • Finishing framing out the windows with MDF trim

  • Track down some square pillows and look for a few pretty finishing touches
