One Room Challenge Spring 2020-Week six
Week six of the One Room Challenge involved changing out the last original 1963 light in our house. We really wanted to install a sky light here, but had some issues with framing, so that project will happen later down the road. Before we installed the recessed light the area above the stairs was so dark. The lights from the hallway cast a shadow on the artwork, which didn’t allow you to see all the details from the joint compound.
DIY swing picnic table final reveal
Who remembers this hideous thing?!
Do you guys remember at the end of May when we took apart and moved the kids DIY playset that we built for them a few years ago? We had to start planning where we were going to put our walkway to the shed, and the playset was in the way. Moving it was definitely harder than we anticipated due to the unevenness of our yard, however we (Scot) prevailed and it’s final destination was to the right of our DIY shed!

One Room Challenge Spring 2020- Week four
Week four of the One Room Challenge Spring 2020 is officially here, and we checked a few things off our to-do list! For one we installed a new hand rail. Believe it or not we have lived without one for almost sic years now! Before we removed the load bearing wall in the hallway, we had a basement door with a chain and latch on it. That obviously made the basement seem so dark and scary…because it was. Anyways, there was a 2x2 makeshift hand rail there before that we removed once we started opening up the basement to the rest of the house.
DIY swing picnic table
Hey guys! Today I’m going to be sharing how we built our DIY swing picnic table out of the kids old DIY playset we built a few years ago! We recently moved the playset because of a future walkway we were going to install that leads to our new shed. In doing that we had to take apart the playset and move it to a new spot in the backyard. The playset sat there for a few weekends while we worked on other projects.
Minimal and modern landscape design
Today we wrapped up the flower bed to the right side of our front porch stairs! Our sidewalk is being poured on Tuesday, so we wanted to get ahead of the game so that once it was poured we could knock out the left side! We knew we wanted minimal and modern landscaping so we put our must have list together and headed to our local nursery and home improvement store.
